    Historical Silverton Railroad Collectable Items

I have been collecting items related to the history of the three Silverton Railroads. My most prized possession is an original silver pass issued by Otto Mears to Mark Atkins, co-owner of the Solid Muldoon newspaper in Ouray Colorado. The pass was issued in 1889. A photo of the pass is posted below. I have also been picking up vintage postcards of scenes in and around Silverton which you will find on this page. I was also lucky enough to purchase a lot of 10 waybills from both the Silverton and Silverton Northern Railroads. I find these very interesting in that they provide us a glimpse into the day to day operations of the railroads. They are a kind of snapshot in time if you will. I have had an interesting time while trying to decipher the hand writing on a few of these. If you find I have missed something feel free to send me an email with your interpretation.
